In an interview with the Salt Lake Tribune, Slash mentioned that he and his bandmates are working on a new album. He said he’s currently writing new material that he’ll send to frontman Myles Kennedy to work on and that a 2014 release is definitely a possibility.

The guitarist explained, "We’re actually working up the next one as we speak. Myles has a new album coming out and then a tour, so it’ll be after that. But I’m working on material, I’ll send it to him, and he’ll come in and record. It’ll be out early next year."

Slash also talked about his experience with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. “We started touring together, and I realized what a great unit we’d put together. So we decided to start writing; Myles [Kennedy] and I got started out on the road,” said Slash. “After the tour was over, we had really established a chemistry. It’s really been very seamless.”

This news coincides perfectly with the release of Slash’s new signature guitar. The Rosso Corsa Les Paul, made by Gibson, has the sort of features one would expect from a guitar bearing the name of the top-hatted one. The Rosso Corsa, which means “racing red,” has a grade-AAA flamed maple top, covered in a deep-red transparent finish. The neck is mahogany and has a ‘60s slim-tapered profile, topped with a 22-fret ebony fretboard.

At the heart of the Rossa Corsa are two Slash Signature Seymour Duncan pickups. They are modeled after the legendary 1950s PAF humbuckers, complete with Alnico II magnets. They have a little more wire wrapped around the magnets, though, to tailor the sound to Slash’s unique style. The bridge and stop-bar tailpiece are TonePros, and the guitar even includes strap locks.
