Martin Hanner of Skyfire recently stepped in as a guest blogger for Decibel magazine's online digs to talk about the five most underrated melodic death metal albums. He includes the Crown, Embraced and Decameron, but you'll have to read up to see what he chose for the top slot.

Regarding his favorite, he says "If you are looking for something epic, you don't need to look any further." What seems to really pluck his melodic death metal heartstrings are heavy orchestral swells that rise up from the darkest musical corners, bringing all of the black with it. Piano also plays a heavy part in his attractions.

Their latest album, 'Esoteric,' has just been released, and Skyfire currently have only a handful of dates in Europe. Hopefully, the Swedish quintet will tour Stateside soon.
