Skillet

A musician's all-time favorite records say so much about their artistic integrity, and the conglomerate of tastes revealed by John Cooper is no exception. The bass guitarist and lead singer of Skillet recently divulged his top ten to the AOL Radio Blog, and there are several universally essential records.

After declaring his love for late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, he goes on to another record and states that "every rock musician has to have a 'progressive phrase'" -- a comment that would make any metal fan smirk in private agreement. His prog-rock band of choice? He says that "brilliant is not a strong enough word for these musicians."

Admitting that 'Enter Sandman' is his favorite rock song of all time, he also explains why Seal's magnetic blend of various genres won him over despite how little he loves R&B. There are several bands that you'd expect in the mix: AC/DC, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi. When he reaches his number one choice, it comes as a bit of a surprise, but Cooper explains the significance of his sentiment.
