Sirius/XM Satellite Radio's ultimate metal destination, Liquid Metal, will celebrate the life and tunes of the late, great Pantera shredder 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott on March 3 at 3 PM CT. It's the third day of the third month, with the tribute starting at the third hour, in Dime's home time zone, of course. Why is the three so significant? And why is Liquid Metal doing the tribute? Easy! Dime's favorite number was three, and any radio station that plays metal can certainly devote 60 minutes of air time to the man's enduring legacy.

"Why the f-- not really?" programmer and DJ Jose Mangin told Noisecreep with a laugh. "I love Dime and feel like a representative for all things Darrell, and since he's all about the 'three,' I was checkin' out my calendar and said, 'Wait a minute ... this Wednesday is 3/3/10, and if we did something at 3 PM Dallas time? Oh s---, let's do a Dime tribute hour!'"

Mangin continued, "I've been wanting to do all the covers off the new Metal Hammer tribute in a row since I got the compilation last month, but haven't had a really clever cool tie in until now. Call it 'Divine Dime Intervention' and a strong devotion to helping celebrate the man's music and spirit here on Earth and beyond."

Amen, brother! So throw back some Black Tooth Grins and crank Channel 27 on your Sirius/XM radio (or listen online, like we do here at the Noisecreep compound) as Liquid Metal cranks out 13 Pantera covers from 'Getcha' Pull- A Tribute To Dimebag Darrell,' from last year's Metal Hammer.

RIP, Dime. We miss and love you every day.
