Simone Simons Hit With Drumstick: Epica Singer Whacked in Face Onstage

Epica drummer Arien van Weesenbeek needs to get a grip — seriously. Earlier this week, while the Dutch metal band was performing in Milan, Italy, singer Simone Simons was hit in the face with a drumstick that apparently slipped out of the timekeeper’s hands, reports.

The mishap (video below) occurred during the opening number, “Karma,” and while the redheaded rock goddess temporarily left the stage, she returned to finish the next song.

When Epica head to North America later this year to promote Requiem for the Indifferent, their just-released fifth album, fans with front-row seats are advised to keep their eyes peeled for low-flying sticks.
