Sharon Osbourne and KISS’ Gene Simmons Bury the Hatchet on ‘The Talk’
Years of bitterness between two rock legends have come to an end. Ozzy Osbourne's outspoken wife Sharon and KISS bassist Gene Simmons have finally buried the hatchet and ended their long-running family feud. Simmons actually apologized to the Osbourne family on live TV.
The problems began years ago over comments made about both of their reality shows; Sharon O. was beefing with Simmons for publicly criticizing Ozzy and their children Kelly and Jack when they were battling drug issues. Sharon has always been fiercely protective of her brood.
The apology heard 'round the rock 'n' roll world took place on Monday on 'The Talk,' which is Ma Osbourne's US TV show. Never one to mince words, she brought up Simmons' comments, saying, "Many, many years ago when you first started 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels,' it was reported that somebody said, 'Isn't it like 'The Osbournes?' And you said, 'No, because my kids aren't on drugs.' So I came back with a rebuttal. And then there was something printed in the KISS magazine about [how] there should have been a disclaimer at the beginning of 'The Osbournes' that says, 'People shouldn't drink otherwise you'll end up like Ozzy Osbourne.'"
Those were pointed words, which drove Ozzy's missus to tears as she recounted them. "And you said he was sad. And I don't think my husband is sad. So there we go."
Simmons addressed the comments like a man, saying, "Rightfully so. Any mother should defend her family. I don't remember saying those things. If I did, I was way out of line, your family is your business and no one has any right to say anything about them."
Osbourne accepted his apology and bygones are now bygones.
