Shadows Fall Singer Brian Fair Is Celtics Season Tickets Holder
Anyone who knows Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair is well aware that the dreadlocked one is an avid Boston sports fan. We’d even go far as to label him a die-hard — when he guested on our ”Creep Show’ podcast in August, he engaged in heated discussions about the Red Sox.
Now that baseball is in spring training and football players are playing golf — a sport that Fair has recently taken up — his attention is fully focused on his beloved Celtics. “I have Celtic season tickets,” Fair told Noisecreep. “I’ve seen two games this year, since we are always on tour.”
While it might seem odd for a constantly-touring musician to have season tickets to a local sports team, it’s a bit of an investment for the singer. When in doubt, there’s always family and StubHub! He said, “I can get rid of them easily, because people want to see them. Everyone wants to go see the Celtics, so they are easy to get rid of. That wasn’t so true five years ago.”
In Red Sox world, Fair was happy the band picked up pitcher John Lackey from the Angels but says he won’t immerse himself back in baseball for a few more weeks. “I follow spring training a little bit, but I won’t get too crazy till they are rolling. We got some pitching with Lackey. He is our biggest pick up. But we have to settle the scoring issues, since we have to find some bats,” Fair said. He also was glad to see that ex-Blue Jay and Red Sox killer Roy Halladay went to the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League, saying, “I am glad he is not wearing Yankee pin stripes.”
Shadows Fall will spend their summer ripping roofs off Mayhem Fest 2010 venues. Afterwords, Fair said, “We will have some sort of headline run to end the cycle, but nothing is planned yet.”
