Seasons After Climb the Ladder

Seasons After

“We write constantly. Obviously being on the road, it gets harder,” Seasons After bassist Michael Byers tells Noiscreep. “We take a simple recording set-up with us. As the ideas come, we capture them. We do have some stuff that we’ve been working on when that comes. Music is an exciting thing to all of us, we always keep it going.”

Seasons After has had a big couple of years. The band recorded their debut and landed a record deal with Dirtbag Music. The band members also played select dates on recent Taste of Chaos and Vans Warped Tours. Now, Seasons After are focusing on promoting their album and touring as much as possible.

“I like going out and meeting new people and seeing new faces. It’s not the easiest thing to do,” continues Byers. “Some nights are really rough and some are really great. Overall, I love to play live. The more I can get in front of people and kind of help spread the message, it’s a good thing. It’s neat to see people connect to what you’re doing on stage.”

Byers and the rest of his band mates gave-up their day jobs and more traditional ways of life to pursue music full time. While Byers recognizes the band has been supremely lucky the last couple of years, he says the band still struggles and knows things may be rough ahead.

“You’re used to having a steady paycheck and you take a leap of faith and go and live off your savings and the gigs … Living in a van is rough. We’ve been doing that since May. Being a full-time musician was kind of a goal. We’ve had some good fortune and we’re climbing the ladder, and it looks like we have an opportunity and hopefully it all comes true.”

Seasons After’s debut ‘Through Tomorrow’ is available online and as a Best Buy exclusive.
