Scott Weiland's solo trek this spring where he performed Stone Temple Pilots music from their two most successful records certainly garnered a lot of attention and Weiland and his solo band the Wildabouts will return with more 'Purple at the Core' dates in August.

The trek launches with a two-night stand Aug. 2 and 3 at West Hollywood's Viper Room, giving the singer an intimate, sweaty venue to kick off his latest leg of dates. During the run, Weiland and his band will mostly perform in the Midwest and Eastern U.S., with the trek winding down Aug. 24 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Weiland's solo touring has been a bone of contention between he and his estranged Stone Temple Pilots bandmates, as both sides have taken legal action over who owns the rights to the band name and the ability to perform the tracks live. At present, the banner over the upcoming Weiland tour dates on his Facebook page still reads 'Purple at the Core,' suggesting that the STP material will remain a big part of his sets.

Weiland and the Wildabouts recently concluded their latest leg of touring earlier this month. The vocalist also recently got married, which means the time off the road will give him plenty of time to enjoy some newlywed bliss.
