Rush frontman Geddy Lee is a generous man and he's parting with one of his instruments to raise funds for the Lonny's Smile children's charity auction. Lee autographed a one-of-a-kind signature Fender Jazz bass that will be part of an auction taking place on June 20 at the Horseshoe Tavern in downtown Toronto.

Proceeds from the sale will be directed toward Camp Oki, a free weeklong camp for children from Quebec and Ontario who suffer from heart defects and require pacemakers or defibrillators.

In addition to donating the bass, Lee has promised to autograph it and will personalize a message for the winning bidder. The bass has been set up to Lee's live performance specifications by his bass tech, Skully, with a set of "live Rush performance-played" Rotosound strings. The bass comes with a pearlized pickguard that's been custom engraved and hand-painted with an Oki Logo by artist James Hogg. Hogg had previously created the alchemy symbol pickguards on Lee's 'Time Machine' and 'Clockwork Angels' tour instruments.

In addition to Lee's bass, the auction will feature instruments and memorabilia contributed by fellow Canadian artists Blue Rodeo, Great Big Sea, Jann Arden and Serena Ryder among others.
