Rob Zombie

Starting April 26, Rob Zombie will be hitting the road for a limited run of North American dates with none other than Alice Cooper, according to Zombie's MySpace page. The shock rock icons will be touring together for the first time on a bill that, according to Zombie, is one "fans of horror and hard rock could only dream of until now."

On Feb. 19, Zombie teased on his Twitter page that big tour news would be coming Monday morning, and that he'd be touring with someone fans have "been asking me [to tour with] about for years."

The trek kicks off in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on April 26 and additional dates will be announced in the coming weeks. The tour is not expected to extend into summer, when Zombie is expected to hit the road as part of Kevin Lyman's Rockstar Mayhem Festival, which kicks off July 10 in San Bernardino, Calif. The tour makes stops in 26 cities before winding down in late August, and will also feature Korn, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Hatebreed and others.

"The dream or nightmare comes true," says Zombie in a statement. "Me and the Coop have been talking about touring together for about 15 years and finally the moment is here. This will be without a doubt a rock and roll spooktacular for all the cool ghouls."

According to Cooper, he's "looking forward to these concerts with Rob. It's sort of like Dracula vs. Frankenstein, we're like this generation's classic monsters. When we're not onstage frightening audiences, we'll be backstage trying to scare each other."
