Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford has always been celebrated for his siren-like voice and his signature style, especially his studded leather stage gear. The Metal God recently launched his own clothing line, Metal God Apparel, but it doesn't feature replications of Halford's stage attire. Rather, the singer is dabbling in edgy, fashionable t-shirts festooned with skulls, crosses and other assorted metallic images. With names like "Cerberus," "Savior" and 'Steel Wings," the tees are a little more fashion-forward than your standard band-logo shirt, but they're every bit as cool.

"I'm by no means Versace," Halford told Noisecreep with a laugh. "But I am involved in the process of the design of the line. [Artist] Mark Sasso does the illustrations and he has worked with me on my solo act for years and he has a feeling and association that can represent the Metal God image and he has that empathy that carries over into design so it looks good."

Halford told us that the initial reaction "has been fantastic" and that if all goes well, the line will expand beyond "the trusted and true" t-shirt into shoes and pants!

The line is targeted to men and women and Halford also said that the line "is broad based and generational. It will appeal to teens and beyond." Halford also stated that he enjoys fashion from afar and that while his heavy metal plate is full, you never know how far the Metal God apparel line can expand.

Ever the entrepreneur, Halford also launched Metal God Records this year, as well.
