Rob Halford isn't sure whether his sexuality has kept Judas Priest out of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Asked about it in a recent interview with the Canadian gay and lesbian website Xtra!, the openly gay metal icon answered the question with one of his own.

"I don't know, let's have a think; who in there is gay?" Halford asked. "It's a good question."

He went on to say that he considers himself "lower-case gay," since he's not as flamboyant as some of his friends, such as the porn director and drag queen Chi Chi LaRue.

"I love all my friends in the community, and if the moment came [for induction into the Hall Of Fame], it would be a tremendous moment, not just for the band and our fans, but for the whole LGBT community," Halford added.

Speaking of another gay rock legend, Halford told Xtra! about the time he nearly met Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a Greek nightclub.

"At one club Freddie was holding court at the other end of the bar," he said. "We were two ships passing in the night. He waved, I waved. The place was packed, and we never got a chance to connect."
