Revocation Exclusive Tour Blog: Serial Killers, Viking Families and Didgeridoos (VIDEO + PHOTOS)

The Boston tech-death wizards known as Revocation have been out on the road causing trouble on tour with Children of Bodom, Eluveitie and Threat Signal. The 27-date trek started on Jan. 30 in Rochester and will run through March 4 in Baltimore's Ram's Head Live venue.

Noisecreep asked the dudes in Revocation to blog for us from the road and below is the first installment. As you'll read, the band has found time to let loose in between the long drives and live performances these past couple of weeks!

From Revocation drummer Phil DuBois:

"Hey there folks. Well its that time again, time to traverse the continent on another epic rock n roll journey. Fueled by our insatiable lust for circle pits and aluminum Budweiser bottles, we're back on the road with a mission to fight for metal... metal that's real. Touring with Children of Bodom, Eluveitie and Threat Signal, we'll be out for five weeks, goin' coast to coast with a few Canada dates sprinkled in. Gonna be a goodie.

The fun started immediately, with an awesome 15 hour night drive to our first show in Charlotte, NC! We rolled in nice and early, set our shit up, and started to meet people. The first day of tour is always a little weird feeling. On top of hearing 30 new names you have to remember, there is the looming knowledge that there will inevitably be some sort of technical mishap at some point in the night, as is the divine law of the first show. Sure enough, there were major issues with the board and Pa., and Threat Signal's set was delayed by nearly a half hour, with the crowd just standing there blankly. Luckily the problems were worked out, and thanks to COB's rad tour manager they still got to play their whole set.

Our set went by with a few technical difficulties, but it was just good to be playing in front of people again. Eluveitie and Children of Bodom killed it, and we caught up with old friends over beers. Shooting the shit with our buddies was getting boring, but luckily we had a second night drive back up north to Reading, Pa. No better way to start a tour than two night drives in a row, f--- yeah! With such strict driving schedules, it's important to get as much sleep as you can, but even more important to remain punctual, which is why we use a bulletproof alarm system.

Waking up drunk people is difficult, but possible as long as you have the right tools. Reading, Pa. was a cool show, primarily because there were a remarkable amount of people in kilts and war paint, including an entire Viking family. We had hoped that would be the norm of this tour, but I guess Reading is just an exceptionally Nordic town. After that we continued up the East Coast without too much happening, just long ass drives and huge shows. With this much time in the van, a lot can go wrong, but luckily I have a secret weapon: Handerpants.

They're great. My hands stay warm while I flip other drivers off, I don't get blisters for any reason, and if I ever spontaneously diarrhea out of my palms, I'm totally covered. Only an amateur would tour without them.

We made it to Milwaukee, and played the famously haunted Rave. All the employees had different stories about bar stools flying off tables and seeing people who ended up not being there. I always take stories like that with a grain of salt, but I must admit the place was fucking creepy, and no place more so than the drained out Olympic size swimming pool in the basement that a 17-year-old kid drowned in years and years ago. To add to the creepiness there was what looked like about 6 inches of blood in the bottom of the pool. There must be something about the feng shui of that whole area that's a bit off, because right across the street is the famous Ambassador Hotel, where Jeffrey Dahmer murdered a guy in the '80s and tried pulling his heart out of his chest. Kooky!

Kali Ma would be proud. We played one more show in Sauget, Ill., and then it was time for our day off, which just so happened to be on Super Bowl Sunday! No better way to recharge your batteries than drinking for 10 hours straight. The boys even decided to cook up some chili and lasagna which kicked all kinds of ass!
