Rammstein Album Banned In Germany

Not long ago, the premiere of Rammstein's video for 'Pussy' generated so much buzz that it comes as no surprise that the accompanying album, 'Liebe ist für alle da' ('Love Is for All'), has made a big impact among European countries. The record has just been banned in Germany, their homeland, in that it cannot be publicly displayed for sale, and proof of age must be shown to purchase the record. Rammstein noted the new rules on their Facebook, but have made no public opinion on the matter.

Despite this ban, Billboard reported that the record was at the top of the charts in Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Finland and the Netherlands. It made No. 2 in France, No. 3 in Sweden and Belgium, No. 4 in Portugal, No. 14 in Italy and No. 18 in New Zealand. In has gone platinum in Austria and Finland and gold in France, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic and Belgium. It entered the charts at 13 in America in its early October release.

Rammstein have just kicked off a European tour in support of 'Liebe' and will be traveling across the continent for most of the winter. Plans for an American tour have not yet been announced.
