One horror convention is not enough to satisfy the jones of horror fiend Philip Anselmo.

The Pantera and Down frontman loves the genre so much that he is not only co-curating the Housecore Horror + Film Music Festival in Austin, Texas this October. The frontman has also been confirmed for an appearance at the Mad Monster Party Gras 2013, which is also a horror convention set to take place Sept. 13 through Sept. 15 at the Sheraton in his native New Orleans. The Mad Monster Party Gras fuses horror, sci fi and fantasy themes into one all-purpose convention, also featuring celebrities and vendors.

Anselmo will only appear at the event on Saturday, Sept. 14, so there will be no Friday the 13th antics for the singer and attendees. Rats -- foiled! That's the perfect date for him to show up, but the itinerary didn't work out that way.

If you are in or near the region, more details are available here, including lodging discounts. The guest list for the event also features former Kiss drummer Peter Criss, Skinny Puppy's Nivek Ogre and White Zombie's Sean Yseault among others.

Anselmo and true crime scribe Corey Mitchell have partnered up for their Housecore event, which will run for three days and combine horror and heavy metal like only they can. It takes place Oct. 24 through 27, which is right around Halloween, a horror movie fan's favorite holiday.

There are 70 screenings and several concerts planned for the Housecore convention. Be there or be scared.
