KISS singer-guitarist Paul Stanley is recovering after undergoing vocal surgery on Tuesday, Oct. 25th.

The 59-year-old elected to have the surgery after putting his body through decades of stress while out on tour. "I hold myself to a higher standard than others do. With that in mind, I wanted to remedy a few minor issues that come with 40 years of preaching rock 'n' roll," Stanley told CNN in a statement the day after his surgery.

Doctors expect the KISS frontman to make "swift and complete" recovery.

Stanley's wife, Erin, gave birth to a baby girl they named Emily Grace on Aug. 29th of this year. It was the couple's third child. The rocker has a teenaged son named Evan Shane from a previous marriage.

KISS' next album will be entitled 'Monster' and is expected to be released sometime in 2012. The Stanley and Greg Collins-produced record will be the legendary band's 20th studio album.
