Pantheon

"It sucks right now," metal band Pantheon told Noisecreep about their hometown scene in Eugene, Ore. "Every time an all-ages venue opens up, it ends up closing within a couple months for stupid reasons, such as kids showing up completely wasted and getting into fights. Hopefully things will change around here."

Pantheon began their caustic mix of death metal and metalcore around 2007 in Eugene -- the second largest city in the state, situated two hours south of Portland, Ore. Vocalist Breanna Snyder was only 15 when she founded Pantheon, and it was her first band. Besides not having the support of a strong local scene, there was the issue of Snyder's age when performing live. "[T]he only real problem we had was just playing shows at bars," the band explained. "But after we played a couple, the bar owners didn't mind, 'cause we respected them for letting us play and [we weren't] sneaking alcohol or anything like that."

The band just released an EP, 'Vessel of Disease,' which was preceded by 2008's 'From the Ashes.' While the band has some endorsements, they do not have official label backing. "We are definitely looking for a label in the future, but for right now we're just doing in DIY till we can get some more tours to the East Coast," the band said.

Pantheon are planning tours for summer and fall and have one planned for January.
