Sweden has spawned some notable guitarists over the years, and many of them will be featured in the upcoming documentary 'Axemen of Sweden.' The project is currently in production, with a release sometime this spring or summer. Watch a trailer above.

The documentary is being produced by Anders Morén and Björn Carlsson, who are amateur guitarists and professional filmmakers. As far as what viewers can expect from the documentary, here is the synopsis from the official website:

"'Axemen of Sweden' is a celebration and tribute to all the great 'Axemen' from Sweden. This is a documentary about guitarists, their history, development, goals, dreams and their love for the guitar. The documentary is also, naturally, about the guitarists' equipment, technique, and that eternal quest for the perfect tone. Some of Sweden's finest guitar players are featured and we are still in the process of contacting several others."

Guitarists appearing in the film include Fredrik Akesson (Opeth), Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry), Kee Marcello (ex-Europe), John Norum (Europe), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen) and more. Here are a couple more 'Axemen of Sweden' trailers.
