Nine Inch Nails Fans Await High Quality Download of Band’s Final Show

Nine Inch NailsIn 2008, when Nine Inch Nails launched their multimedia Lights in the Sky Tour, frontman Trent Reznor had hopped to release a DVD from the performances. However, he said “for a variety of reasons” he was “unable to capture it professionally for a theatrical or commercial release.” So he did the next best thing. He hired videographers to shoot a ton of raw high definition footage at three different shows and posted a giant 405 gigabyte file of all the footage on his website.

One collective of fans/video professionals from across the globe, which called itself This One Is On Us, put together the concert film ‘Another Version of the Truth: The Gift,’ which was made available for free in variety of formats. Inspired by the collaborative efforts of groups like This One Is On Us, another batch of fans from around the world called A Tiny Little Dot combined their resources to create a full recording of the last Nine Inch Nails Show ever, which went down Sept. 10, 2009 at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Tiny Little Dot team, composed of NIN fans from The U.S., England Japan, Mexico, Israel and Greece, used their own resources to shoot and edit high definition footage from the 3-and-a-half-hour long, 37-song show, Then they mixed it in 5.1 surround sound and called the movie ‘After All Is Said and Done.’ Seventeen professional editors, audio engineers, motion graphics artists, colorists, Web designers, blu-ray authors, content creators, artists and technical consultants, all worked for free to turn over over one terabyte of footage from 26 videographers into a tribute to one of their musical heroes.

In mid-April, A Tiny Little Dot started taking DVD and Blu-ray orders for ‘After All is Said and Done,’and the response from NIN fans was overwhelming. They received so many orders that on May 1 they discontinued the order process for physical copies of the film.

“For those who were unable to place an order before the ordering window was closed, the project will also be made available as an entirely free Internet download,” they posted on their Web site.

To watch a preview of ‘After All is Said and Done,’ which includes over two minutes of ‘March of the Pigs,’ and download the movie when it becomes available, log onto the official A tiny Little Dot website.
