Twice-divorced Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx hasn't fared so well with the whole holy-matrimony thing, but he's all for others giving it a shot. That includes gay couples, and in a pair of weekend tweets, the rocker played unlikely social crusader, blasting former 'Growing Pains' star Kirk Cameron for his recent anti-gay comments on CNN.

"Kirk Cameron, a--hole of the week," Sixx tweeted, linking to video of the onetime heartthrob's appearance on Piers Morgan's show.

"I believe that marriage was defined by God a long time ago," Cameron told the host. "Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life 'till death do you part. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."

"I think that [homosexuality], it's, it's unnatural. I think that it's, it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization," he added.

For Sixx, that kind of thinking doesn't compute.

"I get the"Freedom of speech" tweets from you guys.:)" he wrote, apparently responding to Cameron's defenders. "I just have a really hard time excepting people bashing gay marriage. Love Is Love."
