After widespread weekend speculation and media coverage suggesting that Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and pop princess Avril Lavigne wed on Saturday, June 29, the musical twosome have in fact married for real. They swapped vows on Monday, July 1 in the South of France.

Kroeger, 38, and Lavigne, 28, wed in front of approximately 50 guests at Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu, France, which is located near Cannes. The reception and dinner lasted until 6 AM, according to multiple sources, like Us Weekly. Clearly, these two Canadians know how to party!

"Yes, they're married," one source confirmed. Another said, "It was a wild, all-night party with drinking, dancing, incredible food and lots of laughter and tears of happiness."

Rumors that "Chavril" had wed on Saturday spiraled out of control based on some tweets from the pre-wedding festivities, as the celebration and lead-up to nuptials was apparently several days in length.

Kroeger and Lavigne shocked the world with their engagement, which was revealed last August. They met while working on music together for Lavigne's album and things escalated from there. Music is quite an aphrodisiac, it seems.

This is the first marriage for the Nickelback frontman. Lavigne was previously wed to Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. They split in 2009 after three years of marriage.

Congrats to the happy newlyweds, Canadian music's true power couple, on their nuptials! We hope they have a long and happy marriage!
