My My Misfire

It's a pretty impressive feat when you're the only unsigned band appearing on the soundtrack to a major horror movie franchise. Tons of signed bands, with major label marketing dollars behind them, vie for and covet such placement. But Minneapolis' My My Misfire have grabbed one of those precious slots on the 'Saw VI' soundtrack.

As if that weren't enough, the band has an EP that it plans to self-release on the horizon, which was mixed by Beau Burchell of Saosin fame, who mixed the record on the bus while touring as part of Taste of Chaos, and features guest vox from Suicide Silence's tattooed maniac, Mitch Lucker.

"Working with Beau was pretty rad," drummer Aaron Birdsall told Noisecreep. "We would meet up with him randomly in different cities to check on his progress and to party. I remember the Taste of Chaos date where we met him in Milwaukee on St. Patrick's Day to pick up the final mixes and at about 11 AM, I threw up green beer all over their bus and I woke up in Chicago passed out in a limousine the next day. But the final copy of our first EP was in my back pocket."

Birdsall was equally as jazzed to work with Lucker, too. "I called him up and asked him if he wanted to sing on one of our songs and he was kinda stoked to do it," he said. "So we pretty much got drunk in the parking lot for a few hours and then he went in and laid out his track in like two minutes. It was really amazing watching him and the little things he does to prepare for a vocal tracking, he really gets into it, watching him kinda gave me chills."
