Mudvayne

Perhaps inspired by the perverse Krauts Rammstein, who filmed the high-tech pornographic video 'Pussy' last year with Jonas Åkerlund, Mudvayne have released an explicit video for the song 'Beautiful and Strange,' which was recently banned by all major video outlets.

While the video isn't as graphic as the Rammstein clip, it's actually more unsettling, depicting a man who resurrects a pale female corpse in a grave and then has sex with her. But that's not all, kiddies. During a series of flashbacks, someone's lips vividly get sewn shut. And at the end, the naked lovers get buried alive, possibly invalidating the age-old theme love conquers all.

The video was directed by Frankie Nasso (All That Remains, Hatebreed) and is the second of three conceptually linked clips shot to promote Mudvayne's new self-titled album. The first, 'Scream With Me,' ('Act III Death: Memento Mori') came out in December and included shots of a dragonfly man having his wings torn off by an evil dude with sharp teeth and a white hood.

"The exact definition of the ['Beautiful and Strange'] video is left to interpretation and flows beautifully with the other two videos that complete the concept," reads a press release about the banned clip. The final video in the series, 'Heard It All Before,' will premiere in March.

While 'Scream With Me' can be viewed on most video sites, 'Beautiful and Strange' is only available on the social networking site Vampire Freaks. The clip is intended for mature audiences only.
