There are plenty of ways to celebrate your 40th anniversary and Motorhead just came up with another really cool one. The band has teamed with Haemimont Games to put their stamp on the latest Victor Vran role-playing game for a new offering dubbed Through the Ages.

The game is viewed as an expansion of the Victor Vran universe, incorporating "all manner of devastated landscapes, dystopian urban environments and other elements all influenced by Motorhead's history and lyrics."

Haemimont Games revealed in a press release, "The Motorhead game will consist of new game environments that have not been seen in the original game. Traverse war-torn landscapes and cities, Wild-West inspired landscapes and the Dark Ages Castle where the Queen of the Damned resides, all heavily inspired by and based on Motorhead's history, lyrics and general attitude."

The game will be available on PC Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, with additional platforms to be announced. Get a look at some of the initial images for the game below and keep an ear out for news on a release date. At present, it looks like a late 2015 street date is in the offing.

In other Motorhead news, the band is prepping for the release of their Bad Magic album, due Aug. 28. And you can currently see them on tour with metal vets Saxon and Anthrax. Dates can be found here. Plus, look for Motorhead heading up their second annual Motorboat Cruise, setting sail from Miami to Nassau and the Great Stirrup Cay between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2. This year's lineup includes Slayer, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Hatebreed, Exodus and many more joining the mighty Motorhead. Get details on the Motorboat Cruise here.
