Music and baseball go hand in hand like a bat and glove, thanks to such signature tunes as 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game" and John Fogerty's 'Centerfield.' But Motley Crue recently put their stamp on America's pastime in a completely unintentional way.

Thanks to a sound guy's embarrassing mistake, a snippet of Motley Crue's hit track 'Kickstart My Heart' played during the ninth inning of a recent Arizona Diamondbacks game. The unexpected noise led pitcher J.J. Putz to spike the ball instead of actually delivering his pitch over the plate. Although the camera quickly cut to the audio guy pointing to himself as the guilty party, the damage was done and Putz easily jumps into baseball's blooper reels.

To make matters worse, the D-Backs lost to the New York Mets 4-1. The New York announcers, who didn't immediately recognize the Crue guitar riff, cracked up at the incident, likening the noise to that of a cow. Watch the video above.

As for Motley Crue, baseball is the furthest thing from their minds as they are prepping another residency at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Casino Las Vegas. Their excursion begins Sept. 18 and runs through Oct. 6. No word if Putz or the Diamondbacks sound guy will kickstart their hearts for a Sin City engagement. We're guessing they're keeping their Motley Crue memories in Chase Field.
