We previously reported that Slipknot percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan signed on to direct Officer Downe, an indie film adaptation of a graphic novel of the same name. It was also recently revealed that Kim Coates from Sons of Anarchy would play the title role.

Now, more cast members for the film have been announced. They include Tyler Ross (Zombieland) as Officer Gable; Lauren Velez (Dexter) playing Police Chief Berringer; Reno Wilson (Mike and Molly) as Officer Carter; and Bruno Gunn (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) playing Officer Fritch.

The plot of the movie revolves around a police officer who dies many times in the line of duty and is brought back to life by his superiors to continue to perform his police duties. It's set to be released in 2016.

In an interview last year, Crahan told HardDrive Radio that he’s ready to direct movies. “I’ve been preparing myself with art my whole life, and preparing myself for directing and scriptwriting, and this is what I’ve been doing for 10 years, is learning and studying and taking it in.” He continued, “I honestly believe that we are gonna create the next Clockwork Orange and I’m gonna die trying because that’s my life.”

When it comes to Crahan's main gig, Slipknot have a busy spring and summer planned with live dates in support of their .5: The Gray Chapter album. Their "Summer's Last Stand" tour with Lamb of God, Bullet for My Valentine and Motionless in White kicks off July 24 in West Palm Beach, Fla. They also have some U.S. festival and headlining dates in April and May. For their complete calendar, go here.
