They call him fuehrer / I say deceiver / He calls himself uniter / We say divider

Whether or not they are informed or not, bands get to have political opinions just like everyone else. Due to the spotlighted nature of musicians, they often have the opportunity most of us do not to express their discontent or admiration of political figures. Molotov Solution is one of those bands, and the title track off their the new album 'The Harbinger,' makes that perfectly clear.

"To get straight to the point, 'The Harbinger's' lyrics refer to President Barack Obama," they told Noisecreep. "Although not obvious or direct in stating his name, anyone aware of the lyrics and what we normally write about should be able to figure it out quite easily. The word 'harbinger' describes someone or something that foreshadows a future event, like an omen or a symbol. Barack Obama quickly became the symbol for a 'new' America."

The band goes on by delving deeper into the song and its meaning. "The lyrics repeat, 'A message of hope coupled with a promise of change. A subtle overhaul in appearance and disposition, a clever distraction forged to subdue the population.' Hope and change were Obama's biggest campaign slogans, obviously appealing to anyone. The overhaul in appearance and disposition refer to Obama being African American, for starters, younger than Bush and more charismatic than his predecessor. The change in disposition refers to Obama being a Democrat rather than a Republican like Bush. Seemingly different agendas, but full of lies and broken promises. Enough to keep the population quiet and ignorant while steps are taken to reduce national sovereignty and diminish our liberties."
