Miss May I Planning Auction To Benefit Late Fan’s Family

Miss May I
Rise Records

Miss May I have been taking some time to reflect after a fan died following an apparent ill-fated stage dive at the New York City concert this past week. The group has issued another statement on the matter in which they detail their plans to honor the young fan and help out his family.

The group just released their ‘Rise of the Lion’ album and it enjoyed a solid debut at No. 21 on the Billboard Chart. In their new statement, the band reveals that they’re dedicating the album’s success to the memory of Alberto Scott. They also congratulate their fans on the support shown toward Scott’s family and state that they are currently contemplating an auction that will also raise funds for Scott’s family.

Their posting on the matter can be read below:

Hey everyone, apologies for the radio silence these last couple of days. After what happened we’ve all taken some time to reflect but we had to speak up today to give our heartfelt thanks.
First and foremost, to those who’ve reached out to offer their sympathies or who’ve kept Alberto and his family in their thoughts and prayers. In particular to all those who donated to his family; after only a few days they have almost reached their fundraising goal. If you can spare any amount, no matter how small, it will be greatly appreciated. You can do so here www.gofundme.com/8vjoqc
We’re also looking into an auction. Something unique from the band will be listed online in the coming weeks; with the proceeds to go to Alberto’s family also. More news on that very soon.
Lastly, we just got the news today that Rise Of The Lion charted at number 21 in the Billboard Chart. We couldn’t be more appreciative for each and every one of you who made this happen for us. Every track on the new record was written with our fans in mind and, after the events this week, it’s been an extremely emotional few days.
With that in mind, we’d like to dedicate this to the memory of Alberto

The latest message follows their previous statement on the passing of Alberto Scott in which they stated that they were “shocked and saddened” to hear the news of Scott’s death. Initial reports stated that Scott died after taking part in an apparent stage dive where no one caught him. But in their official statement on the matter, the group stated that they were still awaiting a full report from the New York Police Department.
