There are around 2,500 music festivals of every genre across America planned for 2010. While the summer is heating up with big festivals all over the country, Midwest Rockfest is upping the ante, as the only event to feature a lake for swimming and boating as well as hot air balloon rides. Midwest Rockfest is set for July 22, 23 and 24 at Lake Afton in Wichita, Kan.

So far, bands booked for Midwest Rockfest include Styx, Pop Evil, Stuck on Stupid, Even the Dogs, Texas Hippie Coalition, Fuel, Nelson, Twisted Sister, Winger, Kix, Y&T, Toxin, Archer, Black and Blue, Jetboy, Bang Tango, Dead Friend Walking, Thrown, Soulicit and XYZ.

"We're bringing in hot air balloons, foam pits [and] we've got a lake 50 feet off your campsite. Our venue actually sits 50 feet off the lake," Midwest Rockfest promoter Tommy Shelton told Noisecreep. "You can wade around in a bikini or whatever you choose and listen to the music all day long. You don't have to worry about the July heat.

"If I can bring in the right entertainment for the people and find what they want to listen to, everything else with the festival works because of the lake. You can jet ski, boat, get done and listen to music or go boat some more if you don't like a particular band. It's a different flair."

Tickets, VIP and camping packages are on sale now as are one-day passes. More bands will be added to the lineup.
