Canadian metalheads can breathe a little easier today, as a Metallica's scheduled show in Halifax, Nova Scotia will occur as planned on July 11th. The show was in jeopardy while local authorities were involved in a dispute with the promoter, who allegedly owed money to other local businesses from previous shows that were put on in the region. Local officials planned to withdraw their support of the show unless the promoter paid his outstanding bills. The promoter must have done so, since The Chronicle Herald reported that the dispute has been put to bed.

A spokesman for Halifax Regional Municipality issued the following statement: "In recent days, issues have been raised with respect to the provision of services associated with the concert. Any outstanding issues have been resolved. We look forward to residents and visitors enjoying a great time at a great concert in a great city."

The promoter and authorities could not stop the battery!
