Metallica Team Up With San Francisco Giants + More News
Metallica are Bay Area natives, so it makes sense that they will partner with the World Series Champions -the San Francisco Giants- for the first-ever "Metallica Night." It takes place on Friday, May 3 at AT&T Park. 'Tallica will perform the national anthem and throw out the first pitch. Then the Giants will take the field against the Los Angeles Dodgers in this California battle.
Black Sabbath have talked about their new album, with Ozzy Osbourne referring to it as "Satanic blues." One track is tentatively called "God Is Dead," with Ozzy saying, "It starts off, 'God is dead,' but at the end it says, 'I don't believe that God is dead.'" Other track titles include "End of the Beginning" and "Age of Reason." Ozzy added that he doesn't pay much attention to what other artists are doing, saying, "I don't know what's going on in the music world. My wife mentions bands to me and I don't know what the fuck she's talking about. We just do what we always did." [Rolling Stone]
Deftones are working on a live vinyl retrospective spanning their entire career. On Nikki Sixx's Sixx Sense radio show, frontman Chino Moreno said, "The last week-and-a-half, I've been having to go through all these tapes-we're putting out a live vinyl set. For every record, we're going to put out like four or five songs from that time, that era. So I've been going through all these tapes from 96 and they're hard to listen to. Like seriously, I really feel we've gotten better as a band and me as a vocalist." [ThePRP]
