Metallica Did Not Ask Military to Stop Using Their Music + More News

Metallica have refuted the claims of the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden. The anonymous SEAL was interviewed by Esquire and revealed that he listened to Demon Hunter’s music and wore their patches on his missions, including the missions that did bin Laden in. He also said that the military used Metallica’s music to “soften” people up before interrogating them, but the band requested that they stop doing it, since they did not want their music associated with violence.

Not true, say the members of Metallica. The band toed the line in their response.

“There has been a lot of talk recently about us asking the military not to use our music to ‘soften people up before interrogation.’ We NEVER commented to the military either way on this matter. Any statements that have been made otherwise are not correct.” [Metallica.com]

Steven Adler and his post Guns N’ Roses band Adler are touring, dubbing the trek “Back From the Dead.”
