Metalhead Weeps After Receiving Dean Razorback as 16th Birthday Gift From Late Father
This video will make your eyes do that liquidy thing again, so be prepared. This young man lost his father shortly before turning 16 years old, but that didn’t stop dad from giving his son an incredible gift.
This was 16-year-old Johnathan Crow’s first birthday without his father, who passed away earlier this year. However, Mr. Crow had prepared for Johnny’s 16th birthday way in advance. After being brought to a music store, Johnny was given a card from his dad that read, “The happiest moments, the closest friends and family, the sweetest memories — may they all be a special part of your birthday and an even bigger part of your year. Happy Sweet 16. Love, Dad.”
Johnny, in his Toxic Holocaust shirt, was touched by the card, but that didn’t compare to the moment when he was presented with his 16th birthday gift. The music shop employees picked up a Dean guitar case from behind the counter and opened it up in front of Johnny’s eyes. Inside was a brand new Dean Razorback Dimebag axe in classic black.
After staring at his new guitar, Johnny was told his father had bought the guitar right before he passed away, asking for the music shop to hold onto it until his son’s 16th birthday. Overwhelmed by the moment, Johnny couldn’t help but shed (or shred) a few tears.
“I was definitely overjoyed that my father gave me one last thing to remember him by,” Johnny tells The Times Herald. “I know a lot of kids don’t get that.” Johnny continues, “I discovered music and it was amazing how it made me feel. It made that sadness go away, it made me more like my father who I so inspired to be.”
“So today is my little brothers 16th birthday, and his first birthday without our dad. But, dad was always filled with surprises,” older sister Chandler, who brought Johnny to the shop, tells LADbible.
Happy 16th Birthday, Johnny! Now go crush your classmates with some fat riffs!
