Megadeth Hit With Rocks and Bottles in Croatia, Forced to Play Abbreviated Set

American rock bands have been running into all sorts of trouble in Europe. Last night, as Axl Rose was being robbed of $200,000 worth of jewelry in Paris, Megadeth was pelted with rocks and bottles in Croatia, Blabbermouth.net reports.

The mayhem went down at the Metalfest Open Air concert in Zadar Beach, Croatia. Megadeth were slated to perform alongside Dark Tranquility and W.A.S.P., but when both of those groups scrapped their sets due to technical issues, fans became unruly.

A YouTube video of the brouhaha has been taken down, but punters apparently flipped Megadeth the bird and bombarded the stage with bottles and stones, forcing the group to cut its performance short.

While Blabbermouth reports rumors of a backstage beef between Megadeth and W.A.S.P., there's at least one other explanation for why the audience stoned Dave Mustaine and company. Could it be the place was packed with Obama supporters?
