Once again, the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise embarked onto the high seas for a unique combination of relaxation and brutality. During this year's festival cruise, Soulfly / Cavalera Conspiracy frontman Max Cavalera was joined onstage by members of Annihilator and Heathen to jam the iconic Pantera track 'Walk.'

This performance is super exciting, as Max Cavalera is one of Pantera's true contemporaries. Cavalera was also a good friend of late Pantera shredder Dimebag Darrell Abbott.

Rather than picking up a guitar, Cavalera took Philip Anselmo's spot to provide the vocal attack of 'Walk.' Max's thrashy barking worked brilliantly for the Pantera cover, as you can witness in the video above.

Max Cavalera recently took part in our 'Remembering Dimebag Darrell' tribute series, starring in one of its most popular video segments. “He’s a very special person and he’s really missed in the metal world and the rock world. He was one of a kind,” said Cavalera. “There’s only a few of those people who kind of exist. He’s very talented, an amazing musician and a humble and cool guy — not a rock star a–hole. It was a really big loss that tragedy happened to him. It sucked.”

Max most recently released Cavalera Conspiracy's 2014 album, 'Pandemonium.' He also spoke of a potential reunion with Sepultura. Though Max claimed, "I don't see it happening," the veteran frontman also added, "To be honest, I really hope one day we can do this in a very cool way.”
