Mastodon: ‘Lots of Riffs Have Been Collected’ for New Album

Mastodon issued the briefest update about their current status to fans via Facebook earlier this week. The post read: “Hello all, we are currently in the writing process for the next album. Lots of riffs have been collected.”

The band’s last album, ‘Crack the Skye,’ was released in 2009, and they also worked on the score for ‘Jonah Hex,’ which sadly flopped at the box office. Riffs are the hallmark of Mastodon albums, and Noisecreep cannot wait to hear the “collected riffs.”

In other Masto-news, the band will be playing Sonisphere in the UK this year.
