Alter Bridge/Creed guitarist and songwriter Mark Tremonti is doing a solid for...Prince!

He has relocated his highly anticipated debut solo appearance in Chicago this Sunday, Sept. 23, as a courtesy to The Purple One. The show, originally scheduled for the House of Blues, has moved to The Bottom Lounge that same night at 7:30PM. Tremonti is moving the show at the request of Prince to make way for an intimate concert event before Prince's three-night run at The United Center next week. All tickets for the House of Blues will be honored at the Bottom Lounge that night. We guess that when Prince asks you for a favor, you do it. Maybe he can return it by showing up at one of Tremonti's gigs down the road? Just sayin'. [Via Press Release]

Cassettes? What are those, right? Well, if you are a millennial, those are as ancient as an 8-track, but that isn't stopping The Sword from resurrecting the relic-like medium. The band will release its fourth album Apocryphon on Oct. 22 and has partnered with indie record stores nationwide for a special promotion. When fans buy the record on CD or vinyl, they will also receive a free, limited-edition, hand-numbered version of the same record on cassette tape, while supplies last, of course. This promotion is a partnership with Record Store Day's ongoing collaboration with participating independent retailers. Go here or here for more info. If you don't have a cassette player on which to play it, save it as a collector's item. [Via Press Release]

August Burns Red just released an audio stream of "Sleigh Ride" from August Burns Red presents: Sleddin' Hill, A Holiday Album which drops Oct. 9 via Solid State.

"'Sleigh Ride' was the last song to come together for Sleddin' Hill and one of the trickier songs to cover due to its crazy structure and various key changes," said guitarist JB Brubaker in a statement. "The original song is all over the place and so is our version. 'Sleigh Ride' is a complete roller coaster - there is even a jazz section in the middle complete with horns. The end reminds me of a rock 'n' roll dance party in the 1960s. I don't know what else to say - you just have to listen to it."
