Days after he was accused of rape by a former girlfriend, Twiggy Ramirez has been dismissed by Marilyn Manson, who tweeted yesterday (Oct. 24) that the bass player would not be a part of his upcoming tour.

Jessicka Addams, formerly frontwoman of the band Jack Off Jill, late last week (Oct. 20) accused Ramirez – whose real name is Jeordie White – of raping her when they were together in the ’90s via a lengthy statement on her official Facebook page. She added that pressures from her label led her to remain silent for two decades.

“I’d sometimes find myself drinking too much to pretend he was not there,” Addams says. “These unbearable occurrences often tested my own limits or my strengths, yet I found my own weakened behavior seemingly sickened me every unfortunate time I found myself in the same room as him.”

Following the initial allegations, Manson said, “I knew Jessicka and Jeordie had a romantic relationship many years ago and I considered and still consider Jessicka to be a friend. I knew nothing about these allegations until very recently and am saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.” Manson’s latest tweet, which can be viewed below, reads simply, “I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson. He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well.” Manson also added the post to his Instagram account where he commented, “This is a sad day.”

Ramirez, who joined Manson in 1993, departed in 2002 and returned in 2008, released a brief statement of his own about the departure, saying, “I wish to spend this time with my family and focus on maintaining my several years of sobriety. I will be taking a leave of absence from Marilyn Manson and regrettably will not be performing on the upcoming tour.”
