Linkin Park Announce First U.S. Tour Dates in Two Years
It’s been two years since Linkin Park plotted a U.S. tour. Come January 2011, all that changes as the chart-topping act will hit the road in support of their latest, the multi-layered and intriguing ‘A Thousand Suns.’ The band is expected to play a varied set, spanning their entire career.
“The new songs work really well alongside the older stuff. Plus, there’s a strong, powerful message to ‘A Thousand Suns,’ and we’ve transferred that into the show,” lead vocalist Chester Bennington said in statement. “Our aim was that we’re not just putting on a live performance, but something that’s visually spectacular as well.”
Access to tickets is available right now through Linkin Park’s official website, and the band is going to give fans a great souvenir they can download once home from the show — a full recording of the show they attended. Each night, a code will be displayed that will gain access to the corresponding performance.
A dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to the Music for Relief, a charity founded by Linkin Park that provides relief to victims of natural disasters and seeks to educate on the solutions to global warming.
The tour begins on Jan. 20 in Sunrise, Fla. with Pendulum and Does It Offend You, Yeah? opening. Beginning on Feb. 15, electro-titans the Prodigy will be the sole warm-up act.
