Linkin Park are no newcomers to Rockefeller Plaza's studio 8H -- where the NBC sketch comedy show 'Saturday Night Live' has been taped since its 1975 debut. In 2007, they performed on the show when former cast member Molly Shannon hosted. On Feb. 5, the band will return as the musical guest while another of the show's alumni, Dana Carvey, hosts.

Currently, they're bringing a huge multimedia live show in support of 'A Thousand Suns' around the US. The spectacle Linkin Park have been creating live truly matches the uninhibited turns and hooks that made 'A Thousand Suns' one of last year's best records.

Though it's not known yet what Linkin Park will perform on 'Saturday Night Live,' it's a safe bet that there will be some kind of grand visual, as this current season of the 36-year-old show has given way to artist like Kanye West bringing a new visual element to late-night TV.
