Linkin Park Invite Fans to Participate in Creation of ‘LPU13′ Album

Linkin Park are making their annual LP Underground fan club exclusive something really inclusive this year. The band is currently working with Red Bull Studios and Hard Rock Café to provide fans the opportunity to be part of the next LP Underground musical offering by actually appearing on the release.

This offer extends exclusively to Linkin Park Underground members, with the winning participant flying to Los Angeles to hop into the studio with the band to lay down a part on the 'LPU 13' release that's coming later this year. Each year the band provides their fans with a CD of rare and unreleased tracks, but with this promotion there will be something even more fan-centric to take in. The group is looking for aspiring musicians to submit an original track that could be part of the album. Guitarist Brad Delson says, "Since our inception, we've relied on the input and support of our exceptionally dedicated fan base. Beyond sharing our music and art with the LP community at large, we relish opportunities to empower our fans to share their many talents with us. We're excited to announce we will continue that tradition through the LPU Sessions, a one-of-a-kind collaborative music-making project."

Here are the specifics: The group is asking the submissions be original pieces of music in any genre and entries can come from DJs, solo artists or bands (up to six members). Fans can upload their music to their YouTube channel along with a static image of their band/artist name or logo in place of the video. Then add your name/band name and song title of your video and list all of the band members and their role in the description portion on YouTube. Log into your LP Underground account and upload your YouTube link from now through Aug. 4 to enter.

LPU Headquarters will listen to all the submissions and narrow the entries down to 10 finalists, who will be revealed on Aug. 12. The Top 10 will then be showcased on the LP Underground website where members will have a chance to vote for their favorite. The two finalists with the most amount of votes will be the grand prize winners, learning of their fate on Sept. 3. The grand prize package includes round trip tickets to Los Angeles, two nights hotel accommodations, round trip airport transfers, two days in the studio with the band, and a wrap part at the Hard Rock Café in Hollywood.
