Linkin Park's longevity can partly be attributed to their knack for crafting radio friendly hits, as they've been able to merge the worlds of hip hop and rock into one cohesive mix. Their new song, 'A Light That Never Comes,' follows in that mold, and the single had its premiere at Japan's Summer Sonic festival on Aug. 10.

The track, a collaboration with revered turntablist and EDM artist Steve Aoki, has the makings of a bonafide hit, as Chester Bennington'shigh note cries and Mike Shinoda's infectious flow form the perfect marriage with Aoki's musicianship. "Debuting a brand new song that I wrote w/ @linkinpark was beyond EPIC!," tweeted Aoki. "Arigato Japan!!!!"

The song's premiere is great news for Linkin Park fans who may have been worried that fresh material wouldn't be available in the near future due to Bennington's work with Stone Temple Pilots as their current frontman. Although STP hit the road next month with Bennington and an EP is also scheduled for release, the premiere of 'A Light That Never Comes' signals a new chapter in Linkin Park's legacy.

Linkin Park also announced the launch of their Linkin Park Signature Series: Edition 31 t-shirts, a collaboration with Hard Rock International. Proceeds benefit the Power the World initiative for Music for Relief.

"The most exciting part of our partnership with Hard Rock is that it helps people," said Shinoda. "There are people in the world who cook dinner over fires and people who have to perform emergency surgery at night via candlelight. The proceeds of this shirt will buy clean-energy cook stoves for families who only have access to dirty cooking materials which are bad for the environment and bad for their health. It will buy 'solar suitcases' to power things like hospital lights and medical devices in remote areas of the world without energy access. By dedicating funds to Music for Relief, this Hard Rock t-shirt project promotes sustainable energy awareness and helps people who need it." The T-shirts will be available at www.hardrock.com and Hard Rock Cafe, Hotel, and Casino locations starting this month.
