You now have the chance to own one of late Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman’s instruments. The legendary metal musician died in 2013 of alcohol-related cirrhosis at the age of 49 and his estate is now putting four of his guitars up for auction. Part of the proceeds from the bidding will go towards the Wounded Warrior Project.

According to ESP Guitars, each guitar is a “one-of-a-kind custom” instrument and was in Hanneman’s personal collection. The company also reports that he played all four black guitars at various times with Slayer in the studio and onstage. Each one will come with the original guitar case and a certificate of authenticity from Hanneman’s estate.

Three of the four guitars are up on eBay now and the starting bid for each is $12,000 with free shipping. Biding ends on July 31 at 4PM, so you have about a week to own a piece of metal history and support the charity. Two of the three instruments are ESP Custom Shop guitars, one having a NFL Raiders’ theme and the other filled with stickers of bullet holes and words like “f—k” and “killer” (check it out above.) The third is a custom B.C. Rich guitar that features German phrases and names.

The last guitar, which is not yet up for auction, is an ESP Custom Shop instrument and ESP reports Hanneman used that guitar during Slayer’s video for their track “Bloodline.” Head here to keep updated on when that guitar heads to the auction block.

Kerry King recently spoke to Loudwire about Hanneman's influence on their upcoming 11th album Repentless. King told us that while Hanneman “isn’t physically playing” on the group’s upcoming disc, his song “Piano Wire” will be included on the effort. Repentless comes out on Sept. 11. Check out King's interview below.
