The Last Vegas

"You know, it's kind of like when you're in prison for so long and then you get released, you don't know anything else. You just want to go back to prison!" So says Chad Cherry of touring with his band the Last Vegas. The singer has literally been on the road for years, publicizing his band and earning a following. Cherry admits that he's on stage so often, it's easy to forget how to live a non-rock star existence.

He said, "The first week I'm off from a tour, I get really weirded out. Like, [5 PM] comes around and I'm like, 'Wait, I should be in sound check or doing radio! What's going on?'"

During the past year, the Last Vegas recorded 'Whatever Gets You Off,' which included the smash single 'I'm Bad.' The band has also toured with Mötley Crüe, Buckcherry and currently Smile Empty Soul. According to Cherry, all the members of the Last Vegas have the same mindset: work hard, stay on the road and happily reap the rewards of success.

"We feel good and really alive playing live music in front of people, and we feed off the energy of the fans ... it's a complete rush," Cherry said. "You get addicted to doing your music, and you get addicted to feeling good. Having people rock out to your music is a pretty rewarding thing. You can make people feel happy that you can take them away from the bullshit that's going on in their lives ... even if it's just for an hour."

You can catch the Last Vegas on tour through early February 2010.
