Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe has been noticeably tight-lipped about his recent ordeal serving time in a Czech Republic prison. The rocker faced and was eventually acquitted of manslaughter charges relating to the death of a fan at one of LoG's shows in 2010. He barely gave any interviews and was more vocal about his situation on his Instagram feed than he was with the news media. He will finally open up about what he went through in a new memoir.

The book will place emphasis on the past year of Blythe's life. He will personally detail every aspect of what he endured in his own words -- no ghost writers, no co-authors, just him!

The words are solely those of Randy Blythe, which makes sense, since it was his experience and only he can effectively recount it. Blythe is well-spoken and intelligent, which will elevate the book to "must read" status.

The as-yet untitled tome is scheduled to land via Da Capo Press in spring of 2014. We expect it to be nothing less than a page-turner.

“While I've dreamed of being a published author almost since I began to read, I never imagined my first book would center around such a sad topic. Sometimes though, life unexpectedly provides you a story that needs to be told,” stated Blythe, who never once adopted a "woe is me" attitude about his plight and consistently spoke of his compassion for the victim, who died after sustaining a brain injury at the show, and his family.

He continued, "I believe this one does (for several different reasons, not just for the benefit of myself), so I will tell it with the respect and dignity all involved deserve. This will be a good read, I promise you, and I hope some good comes of it."

Da Capo appears to be the right fit for Blythe, as the imprint has published or will publish memoirs by heavy metal icons, including Tony Iommi, Corey Taylor, Rex Brown and Al Jourgensen among them.

“I knew that Randy was a master vocalist and lyricist but it turns out he is a vivid and visceral prose writer as well,” said Da Capo Press Executive Editor Ben Schafer. “Regarding his arrest and trial in the Czech Republic, Randy handled a frightening and heartbreaking situation with courage, grace, and humility, and we at Da Capo Press are honored to have the opportunity to have a part in telling his story.”

Stay tuned for more details about the book.
