Korn Bow Out of St. Louis’ Pointfest While Jonathan Davis Rests Vocal Cords

Korn postponed a handful of May performances late last month, but another show has been added to those the band won’t be able to fulfill. The group was expected to head up St. Louis’ annual radio festival Pointfest on Saturday (May 13), but they’ve now pulled out of the event as Jonathan Davis is dealing with vocal issues.

“We regret to announce that we will not be performing at Pointfest this weekend. Jonathan has been given doctor’s orders to rest his vocal cords, and is not able to perform on Saturday. We’re sorry we can’t be there with you and for you, and appreciate your understanding,” states a post on the band’s social media.

The post comes accompanied with a soft-voiced Davis also offering a video explanation. “I just wanted to make a little video so that you can hear, my voice is thrashed. We’ve had to cancel some shows. This stuff happens sometimes and there’s nothing I can do about it. I need to rest and get my voice back in good singing shape.” Davis says it’s his hope to be back onstage for the Rock on the Range festival, which Korn are headlining, next weekend in Columbus, Ohio.

As stated, Korn postponed a number of dates throughout the month of May leaving only their festival appearances, but those were chalked up to “unforeseen circumstances.” The group did play at Carolina Rebellion last weekend.

Korn will join Stone Sour and a solid supporting cast for dates on “The Serenity of Summer” tour later this year. All of their scheduled shows can be viewed here.
