Knights of the Abyss, a thrashy death metal outfit from Glendale, Ariz., are currently working on their third album at White Lake, Mich.'s Dreadcore Studios with owner and producer Joshua Wickman (And Hell Followed With, Within the Ruins). "We are really excited to be having Josh work on this record," said bassist Griffin Kolinski. "We feel he is gonna help us make this the heaviest Knights of the Abyss record to date and really dial it in the way we want to."

The yet-untitled album will be the follow-up to 2008's 'Shades' and will exhibit the growth the band has experienced from playing live and having more time to write. "Expect something versatile," said guitarist Nick Florence. "This is a step up for us and we are super-excited to get this new material out to the masses."

Knights of the Abyss are scheduled to wrap up in the studio on May 1 begin a tour the next day in Tinley Park, Ill. On May 21 in Phoenix they will join Burning the Masses, Those Who Lie Beneath and And Hell Followed With for a tour that runs through June 15 in Anaheim, Calif.
