Kiss bassist Gene Simmons has been sued by a couple who claim the long-of-tongue rocker assaulted them in a mall. The Associated Press reports that the suit, filed last Dec. 24, suggests Nathan Marlowe and his wife Cynthia Manzo were attacked by Simmons at The Grove Mall in Los Angeles.

The couple says Simmons attacked them, threatened them and took their video camera two weeks ago when the couple started to shoot film of the rocker.

According to the couple's attorney, Matthew Nezhad, a police report was filed, but Simmons has not bee formally charged or arrested. The couple went to court seeking a restraining order against Simmons last Wednesday, a day before the filing of the suit, but that petition was denied.

The suit says Marlowe asked Simmons for his view on monogamy. Simmons instructed him to take the shot and be on his way. The filings state Simmons then lunged and attacked Marlowe, snatching the video camera from his hands, and then turned on Manzo when she tried to retrieve the camera.

The couple seeks damages of more than $25,000 for civil claims of assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress.
