Killswitch Engage

With Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones taking a brief hiatus from the band to take care of some personal issues and All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte filling in on the band's current trek with the Devil Wears Prada and Dark Tranquility, there's been a ton of online speculation regarding Killswitch's future -- and what, exactly, pulled Jones away from the band's tour. It appears some sort of illness sidelined Jones, and there's no word on when he may be returning to the fold. Now there are rumors abounding that the band's founding frontman, Jesse Leach, will be back behind the microphone soon.

In a brief Facebook exchange that's since been removed from Leach's page, a fan asks Leach about the possibility of him rejoining the band. Specifically, the fan wanted to know if Jesse would be appearing with the band during its New York gigs March 18 and 19. Leach hints that its possible he'll show for those two gigs, but did not confirm the rumors. But it certainly sounds like he's interested.

Given the band parted on decent terms back in 2002, it seems Leach returning could be a very real possibility. The fact that Leach is working with Killswitch guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz on a side project called Times of Grace indicates the relationship between Jesse and the Killswitch dudes remains cordial. And because the band's popularity has risen substantially since Leach jumped ship, the New York shows, if they happen, will be the first time many fans get to see Killswitch Engage with Leach. Speculation that Leach's return could become full-time is just premature at this point.

Some are suggesting that, if the shows do go down with Leach, the band should play 2002's 'Alive or Just Breathing' and perhaps some Jones-era KsE tracks like 'Take This Oath' and 'Irreversal.' We at Noisecreep back that suggestion.
